I am completely in awe of M. Robinson as I type this. I decided to read her newest release, and it was the first book of hers I have read. Let me just say, going into a new to you authors writing for the first time you really never know what you are going to get. Some writing styles don’t fit what you like to read, some stories are overdone, characters just carbon copies of something you have read before. However, that is NOT what Second Chance Vow was. This book was one of the most realistic portrayals of what happens after the happily ever after. Once a marriage begins is truly when the trials begin, and struggles occur on a daily basis. It was such a breath of fresh air to read something so spot on to what so many couples go through.
In Second Chance Vow we get the story of Christian and Kinley. They have been together for over 20 years and their marriage has fallen apart. On the brink of ending things, we get flashbacks into the beginning of their relationship, the highs and the lows and all the deep emotions they feel for one another. Christian is not giving up on her and will fight til the last minute if he has too, but Kinley is very closed off and ready to allow him to be free and live the life he has always dreamed of. Just without her. This book had me laughing at times, crying during most of it, but simply elated by the end. Their emotional journey together is simply exquisite, and I cannot wait for my next M. Robinson book. The story line, the characters themselves and all the other things going on around them pull this together to truly make this one of the closest to the heart books I have read in years.
