My Review
This being my first book by Emily Snow, I didn’t know what to expect going in. The blurb intrigued me enough to give it a chance. From the beginning, there is this pull that Emily has been able to place at the very beginning of Eleanor and Graham’s story, that really grabs you and doesn’t let go until the end. She mixed in just enough angst to keep it intriguing in a “where is this story going” sense.
In His Pawn we get this story about a senator with a vendetta. He’s out to seek revenge for what happened in his past, and Elle just happens to be the pawn in his game. He thinks by hurting her it will get back to her father, the ultimate end game. What he doesn’t expect is their arrangement to mean more to her, and ultimately him. Their chemistry is very hot and the build up to when they are finally together being a bit drawn out in my opinion, that is why I give this book 4.5 stars. It’s packed full of mischievous banter between our two leads and so much steam between them I was surprised the author could keep it going as long as she did. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from her.
