Fresh off a divorce from a Hollywood hotshot, Madison Atwood needs an escape. With the paparazzi fresh on her heels and her love life splashed on every tabloid, she runs away to a swanky retreat in Northern California. Avalon Springs is the mountainside haven she needs to find herself again.
Luke Dawson lives off the grid, preferring solitude to society. When he finds a beautiful woman soaking in the hot springs on his property, he can’t stop himself from watching her. She captures his attention, but she’s just a city girl—a beautiful distraction disturbing the peace he’s settled here to find.
When Madison discovers Luke’s secluded cabin, he can’t turn her away again. They make no promises. Madison needs to feel wanted again, and Luke misses the touch of a woman. But when mother nature has other plans, they’re forced to spend more than a night of passion together. Can Luke say goodbye to the only woman who’s made him feel anything in years, and can Madison leave behind the man who brought her back to life?
I, like most fans of this genre, simply love Meredith Wild and all of her stories she’s taken us on. Although I haven’t read anything by Chelle, when a favorite of yours pairs up with another author to write a book, it typically does not disappoint. Misadventures of a City Girl was a fun start to this new Misadventure series. This book was a very quick, fun and romantic comedy that I breezed right through it. It is one of those quick novellas that pulls you in from the first page and won’t let you put it down. Even if it’s 2am on a weeknight.
In Misadventures of a City Girl we follow the story of Madison and Luke. Madison was just heartbroken and dragged through the tabloids after her high school sweetheart/husband betrays her in Hollywood amid an affair. She flees the city to find solace and some peace as she seeks what is next for her. What she doesn’t expect to find is Luke.
Luke is a good ole country boy who keeps to himself in a small cottage. He enjoys his way of life and is most definitely not expecting to stumble across a very Naked woman in his hot spring. He knows he should be the gentleman and remove himself from the situation, yet is drawn to her.
These two has such a fire spark when things start to heat up between them that they are a page melter. When you least expect to find your other half, that is typically when it happens and they both can only deny it for so long. She doesn’t fit into his life, and he most definitely doesn’t fit into her LA life. But will what they have be more than the obstacles in front of them? This quick novella will reveal all and then some.
